THE SPACE
Welcome to Denver! A top notch doobie on your pillow & a gratis bottle of wine. Ideal accommodations for 1-3 guests (but a 4th could be squeezed in). Sweet 1908 bungalow in trendy foodie area. Several restaurants on the block, but still a quiet neighborhood. Walk to many great places.

Two comfy bedrooms with all you need, private bath & kitchenette area in artful 1908 bungalow.

There are two bedrooms in this suite:
~First bedroom in suite has queen sized bed.
~Second bedroom in suite has a regular twin sized bed and a twin sized trundle bed that is usually stored under the regular twin bed. (4th guest can be accommodated in a pinch on the trundle bed, but room will be very crowded if trundle bed is rolled out and utilized. Please see pics with trundle bed out)
~Also in the twin bedroom has a kitchenette area with a small fridge, small microwave, coffee pot, hot water pot, ice machine, two tv trays, two small snack tables, plastic dishes, cups and utensils.
The kitchenette has everything you need for snacks, microwavable meals and beverages.
~You’re own spacious, private full bathroom.

THE NEIGHBORHOOD
Situated in authentic Denver neighborhood. Old and new residences mixed with small charming businesses. Walk to many amazing restaurants, bars, happy hours, and of course, dispensaries, including Simply Pure, the first black-owned dispensary in Denver, nationally known for innovative edibles–just down the street!

They are grouped per restaurant. You’ll see the name of restaurant, then pics of it’s food and atmosphere, then the name of restaurant again, then group of the next restaurant pics starts with the name of the next restaurant.

Denver is close to many parks and mountain attractions. :)) Sunnyside (my neighborhood) is quite close to I-70, the gateway to the mountains. I’ve got loads of books for you to peruse about things to do in and around Denver.

SANITARY ACCOMMODATIONS
*Since the pandemic and at the time of this writing, I no longer host separate parties simultane]ously. I now offer a 2-BEDROOM, PRIVATE BATH, GUEST SUITE IN ORDER TO PROVIDE SANITARY ACCOMMODATIONS. You will have your private kitchenette and bathroom, so there’s no common area cross-contamination between guest/host parties. Although guests pass through the common area on their way to their suite, we do not share the common areas of my home. I’d like to offer safe harbor for folks who are eager to travel, explore and relax safely.

*I provide spray alcohol, clean cloths and hand sanitizing gel in each guest room for your convenience. Please bring up any Covid19/sanitization concerns when you book. At the time of this writing, most businesses in Denver do not require a mask, but things can change rapidly. I had covid19 summer of 2020. I was also fully vaccinated in 2021.

PARKING AND TRANSPORTATION:
FREE parking is always available on my block, often right in front of my house! Uber and Lyft are usually only a couple minutes away. Bus to downtown leaves across the street from my house.
FROM DENVER INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT:
A-train from DIA to beautiful Union Station, then a 5 min Uber to my house (or a longer bus ride OR if you don’t have much luggage, a gorgeous half hour walk from Union Station, through the park and into my neighborhood.)
Uber, Lyft and taxis are available at DIA. Download and check prices on Uber and lyft apps prior to your arrival.

GRATIS DOOBIE AND WINE
I’ll get you started with a gratis doobie for each night of your stay. There are great recreational dispensaries within walking distance–and even more within driving distance, some open until midnight! Each guest in your party receives a gratis doobie for each night they’re booked.
Let me know if you prefer red or white wine for your gratis bottle:)

SMOKING IS ON THE COVERED FRONT PORCH
*The café table and chairs area on the front porch is reserved for guests as their private smoking and hangout area.

I PROVIDE COFFEE, TEA AND INSTANT OATMEAL
*To avoid cross-contamination between guests, I can provide coffee, individually packaged teas and oatmeal, also microwave popcorn and hot chocolate if desired. Let me know what you would like any of these things and I will provide them.

CHECK-IN AND CHECK-OUT
Check-in is 3 pm or after. Give me your specific check-in time. Once I’ve given you the grand tour, you are welcome to come and go as you wish. Check-out is by 11am on your departure day.

ONE SHY KITTY AND ONE FRIENDLY DOGGO LIVE HERE.
They are not allowed on guest rooms.
Kitty Frankie: If you are NOT a kitty person, no worries. Don’t bother him; he won’t bother you. Just keep your doors closed (or use the provided baby gates if you like to leave your door open) so he doesn’t get in your belongings or on the guest linens.
If you ARE a kitty person, please read the following:
Frankie enjoys meeting new people at a distance. Although he may enjoy gazing at you, please don’t pet him. Hes likely to hiss and run away. He really does like new people. He just doesn’t want them to touch him. His pic is in the gallery here. He’s white with one eye. (The other white kitty and the orange tabby, also in pic, have passed away this last year.)
Sirius the Dog: a 50 lb, Bull Terrier/Xolo mix. I adopted him as a 3 year old from the shelter in January 2021. He loves people very much. He’s a happy fellow and loves attention. He’s trained up nicely since I got him. When he’s not out with me and at night, he’ stays gated in my kitchen.
Once you check in, I introduce him to you, so he’s at ease with your coming and going.

Welcome! Ask me about anything in Denver, my neighborhood or my house.

Basically, respect my home and its residents; I'll do the same for you. Here's the breakdown:

*BE HEALTHY, SAFE AND SANITARY
*For everyone's safety, I can only host guests who have no respiratory issues, flu symptoms or other symptoms. If you are sick, please do not book. If you become sick before you arrive, please contact me so we can work out canceling your reservation.
*At the time of this writing, no need to wear masks in my home. Bring masks just in case a business you want to visit requires it. Pandemic policies can change rapidly so we can discuss any of this before actual booking so we know we are comfortable with the same level of sanitary maintenance.

BE LEGAL
~You may only book if you and everyone in your party are 21 or older. (Please let me know if you're traveling with your infant or older child and we'll figure it out.Please no toddlers or younger kids. My house is not kiddie proofed)

QUIET TIMES
~Quiet time after 10:00p (unless everybody's still up) & before 8:00a. Of course you may come and go early or late as you wish, just be respectful and particularly quiet if you think someone may be sleeping. I do expect guests to be reasonably low key and always respectful of me, my pets, my home and my neighborhood.

SMOKING AND DRINKING
~This is not a party house, but a home in which to relax and quietly enjoy your stay.
~Be polite and keep it low key.
~Smoking and vaping of tobacco and marijuana are allowed at café table area of front porch only.
~No smoking or vaping in the house and no open flame in your rooms.
~No illegal drugs and no overt intoxication. Treat all other inhabitants with respect.

HOUSE SECURITY
~Always lock the exterior door each time you arrive and each time you leave the house.

PLEASE REMOVE YOUR SHOES WHEN ENTERING THE HOUSE
~You can keep them on shoe shelf across from front door, on front porch or in your room . Let me know if you want clean slippers!

MY CAT AND DOG
~Make sure my cat and dog stay inside house. Do NOT leave exterior doors open even when you load in and load out.
~Leave your bedroom doors closed or put up provided baby gate if you wantyour door open when you're not in your room to keep pets out of your stuff and off guest linens.

CLEAN UP AS YOU GO
~Please wipe up crumbs and spills immediately. Store food in fridge and provided plastic bin each time you prepare and eat food. Bag food garbage and put in black garbage bin in hallway. I'll take it out. I can do your dishes or you can wash them in bathroom, or I can provide disposable plates. Let me know preference at check-in. Directly after eating, bag food garbage and put in black bin. We don't want pests in the guest rooms!
~Keep all personal items in your rooms.

NO GUESTS OF GUESTS
~You may NOT invite your own guests onto my property (excepting, of course those you've booked with, and communicated to me about ahead of time.)
~Meet your dates, friends, and family (anyone who is not already booked here) outside of my property.

ETA & BOOKING
~Message me your ETA when you're booking. I can check you in at a variety of times, but we must schedule specific time for check-in. Things happen so keep me appraised of ETA changes because of flights, road conditions etc. I will do the same for you. Once you're checked in, come and go as you please during your stay :)
~Message me the full names of everyone you are traveling with. Please help me vet them and tell me something about them.

Just returned from a wonderful stay at Erika’s most welcoming abode. We had traveled from the UK and nothing was too much trouble for her. We cannot thank her enough for the hospitality she shared with us. Our rooms were home from home super comfortable with lots of little extras which made our stay so great. Lots of places to eat too, everything from coffee and croissant to Mexican and healthy eating. A Michelin equivalent star restaurent just a few paces away. Not to mention sushi, yamen the list goes on. We had fun on the line bikes which have you in downtown Denver in minutes. We used Uber super easy and cheap. Finally we must mention Sirius a very well behaved doggy who made our stay such a happy one. Thank you Erika for sharing your wonderful home.

I always stay with Erika when I am in Denver. On my most recent visit I met the newest member of her family – her delightful dog, Sirius. He is a great companion for her and a welcome addition to her household. As usual I felt very comfortable staying in Erika’s home. Her two room suite works well for my needs and I expect to return next time I am in town.

Beware of what you think you maybe getting with this rental. There is an adopted dog on the premises, we were told to keep baby gates up in our doorways for the dog. Very little space to store belongings, we were restricted to our rooms, the bathroom, and living/dining room area. No kitchen access, no access to the back yard, on street parking is hard to find. We felt we were imposing on this host.

We loved our stay. Erika is a wonderful host. The bed was very comfortable. There is so many restaurants near by with great food. All within walking distance. Next time we come to Denver we would definitely stay here again.

Erika’s home was perfect for our party of 3’s weekend stay in Denver! The outdoor area is great for sitting and smoking, the home is tidy and comfortable, and I particularly enjoyed the coffee shop that’s down the street. We would definitely stay here again, as it is in a great location and has a wonderful hostess!

I have stayed in this house quite a few times when in Denver. I find it warm and welcoming and the decor magical. In the past I have stayed in the queen bedroom, shared the bath, and had access to the common areas. That was then. Now with the current health conditions and the new configuration of the guest spaces, I stayed in the two room suite with private bath. It was great. Using the twin bedroom as my living-dining-kitchen area, I felt I had my own small apartment within this house I like so much. I truly didn’t mind just passing the common areas, leaving them for Erika and her kitty! So thanks, Erika, for a relaxed, comfortable, and safe visit. BTW, I really enjoyed eating in some of your neighborhood restaurants. It really is a great foodie area.

We had a great stay at Erika’s 2 BR suite. The Dobie and Wine were a wonderful welcome. The 2 rm suite was quite roomy seeing that it was just my husband and me in our party. The rooms were very clean and well appointed with fun decor. The queen bed was very comfortable. We felt very safe with the extra pre- cautions Erika had provided for post Covid19. Our suite was provided with a small refrigerator, a micro-wave, coffee pot and excellent coffee! She greeted us warmly and made her presence known without being intrusive.

The neighborhood was great for strolling and had many interesting restaurants. Necios, a gourmet Mexican restaurant was in the block across the street and provided us with an excellent meal. Sunnies provides a great breakfast. The city bus line is on the street in front and provides a short ride into Denver downtown. We really enjoyed the cafe table on the front porch and the deep front yard that distanced us from the street. We rented a car for a day and easily drove into the mountains.
