Upstairs Guesthouse: The bedroom offers two queen beds, a reading nook and walk in closet. In the living room, there is a nice area for lounging and watching TV, and also a simple dining and kitchenette for meals. Everything is cleaned and restocked between stays. The kitchenette provides a fridge, coffee pot, microwave, hot plate, water dispenser and some breakfast essentials, including coffee, tea, creamer, sugar and oatmeal.

Guest access

You have the run of the entire house, plus access to an interior stairwell, shared by the main house, for garbage and compost.

Jupiter Garden offers a clean, quiet retreat in a wilderness setting in the city of Anchorage, just 15 minutes from downtown and the airport. We house travelers with an earth-friendly heart and healthy lifestyle. Our guests get a taste of the real Alaskan experience all year round. Your host is available as a guide for most of the year. Besides lodging, we host events and excursions centered on homesteading and natural living.
Workshops include: introduction to beekeeping, cooking with Alaska wild salmon, orchard keeping, wine making, aquaponics/hydroponics, soapmaking, intro to permaculture design and homesteading, intro to recycling/composting and making natural fertilizers. On-site tours are donation based, and workshop prices vary by availability, time and materials involved.
Excursions include northern lights viewing, camping, hiking, downtown, native culture, brewery, bourbon and wine tasting, rafting and sightseeing trips for an additional cost. Our household makes a conscious effort to reduce waste, recycle, use less energy and improve the environment through composting, raising chickens, gardening, DIY, upcycling used and second-hand materials. Guests are able to take a tour, help on projects and engage in workshops about permaculture and natural living practices.
