Who doesn’t love skiing or snowboarding? White fluffy snow, blues skies, and slopes full of people doing one thing: having fun.

It just so happens, that all the states in which marijuana is now legal are also states in which winter sports such as skiing and snowboarding are top activities. Washington, Oregon and Colorado all have that much in common. Is that just a coincidence? Or is it that the type of people who are drawn to living in states in which the outdoor life is all about the thrills of the mountains are also those who feel a little bit more laid back about pot?

We can speculate about that until the skiers come down, but whatever the reason, the slopes are hot and so is pot this winter.

Don’t live in a state where skiing and weed are available? No problem, just book one of Bud and Breakfast’s 420 hotels and you will soon be on your way to getting a piece of the action. What’s more, it’s legal!

Colorado—Breckenridge, Copper, Vail, and Keystone

If you are not already planning a trip to Colorado this winter, drop what you are doing and make it happen. Now!

Warning: Ski resorts are on Federal land, so you cannot legally smoke marijuana or anything else while you are on them. The best thing that you can do, is locate a Bud and Breakfast 420 hotel close to the slopes—that way you can do your skiing and them indulge in some weed afterwards.

Breckenridge, Copper Mountain and Keystone resorts are just a couple of hours up the I-70 from Denver, and there are plenty of 420 hotels listed on Bud and Breakfast that will take care of you there. If you are driving up from Boulder or Denver at the weekend, you’ll want to leave early and avoid the ski traffic on the way up.

Unless you are planning on leaving the slopes early also, it is a better idea to finish off on the slopes and then head into Silverthorne for some food before hitting the road again. That way you’ll miss the Denver-bound ski traffic on the way home too.

As well as these resorts, Colorado offers Crested Butte, Vail and many other ski towns for you to explore. Denver however is such a fun town, that we suggest that you stay in Denver and ski in one of the resorts closest to the city. That way, your going to get a day full of outdoor fun, and all the nightlife that Denver has to offer.

If cozying on inside is more your deal after a day on the slopes, you can find Bud and Breakfast accommodations in Frisco or Vail and the surrounding areas. These will keep you close to the slopes and you’ll avoid the heavy ski traffic too.

This week’s top pick:
