In December of 2008, cannabis legalization in Michigan was allowed after the Law 1 Michigan Medical Marijuana Act was enacted. This meant that patients suffering from debilitating medical conditions were now allowed to possess up to two and a half ounces of usable cannabis, and up to twelve plants.
These plants much be kept in a locked enclosed facility, or, if outside, must not be visible to the eye.
Cannabis legalization for medical purposes mean that patients can benefit from the healing aspects of weed if they have an illness that is considered to be worthy of treatment with marijuana. Qualifying conditions include Alzheimer’s disease, ALS, wasting syndrome, cancer, chronic pain, glaucoma, HIV or AIDS, hepatitis C, Nail patella, Nausea, PTSD, seizures, and muscle spasms.
