Cannabis legalization in Minnesota allows for the use of medical marijuana but not recreational. SF 2470 permits state manufacturers to grow and produce cannabis intended for medical use by patients who are suffering from established health conditions.

Conditions that are considered as qualifying a patient for medical cannabis include ALS, cancer, glaucoma, HIV/AIDS, seizures, muscle spasms, terminal illnesses and Tourette’s syndrome.

Patients are only allowed to possess cannabis that is non-smokable and the possession limits have not yet been defined. Caregivers are not permitted to possess cannabis for patients.
